Program: Join us and learn about starting and maintaining an Espalier tree in your yard. This workshop includes the basic principles of growing espalier trees from planting to pruning and maintaining the shape desired. Best fruit production practices will be discussed as well as varieties that grow well in our area and methods for scaffolding.

Speakers: Janice Rosales has been a UC Marin Master Gardener since 2016. She has been a member of the Pruning Guild since 2017. She has taken pruning classes at Merritt College and also volunteered at the Edible Demonstration Garden at Indian Valley Organic Farm and Garden.
Dana Tamura has been a UC Marin Master Gardener and member of the Pruning Guild since 2017. She is a Journeymen Pruner in the Marin Master Gardener Pruning Guild. Over the past 20 years, she has studied horticulture and landscape design at Merritt College, Foothill College, and UC Berkeley extension. She sustains her pruning passion with four espaliered fruiting trees she has squeezed into her small Novato garden.
