Program: This hands-on workshop by Master Gardener and Master Pruner Susan Pearson will be presented in three parts.. First, she’ll talk a little about the pruning she’ll be doing and will give some pruning basics for these kinds of plants. Next the group will move into the Serenity Garden, which will be full of plants needing to be pruned for winter (Salvia, Agastache, Penstemon, Mallow, Rosemary, etc.) and Susan will demonstrate on a few plants what, how and how much to prune. The final part of the workshop will be the participants doing some pruning in the garden while being supervised by Susan or one of her cohorts from the Pruning Guild. Research on learning says this is the best way to learn; hearing information, seeing it demonstrated and then doing it yourself so come prepared with sharp hand pruners and gloves. We’ll serve coffee and snacks but bring your own water bottle. This will be an immediately useful workshop and will inspire you to go back and prune in your own gardens.

Speaker: Master Gardener and pruning expert Susan Pearson originally learned pruning decades ago when she and her husband owned many acres of fruit trees and she's never stopped. A warm and easy teacher, she makes pruning easy to understand and very low stress.
