The Small Farms Program Manager will support the network of Small Farms Community Educators and Small Farms Advisors in seven multi-county regions of California through statewide coordination of extension efforts, management of externally funded projects, coordination of internal and external communications, and program planning and evaluation. This expanded program will build on the extension services currently offered by UC ANR Small Farms Advisors to increase extension services for small- to medium-scale, diversified, and socially disadvantaged farmers, including development of educational materials offered in multiple languages, research on specialty crops and diversified farming systems, improving access to markets and financial assistance, and assisting farmers with regulatory compliance. 

The Program Manager will coordinate the activities and professional development of Small Farms Community Educators, facilitate communication across a statewide network, manage grant budgets, prepare and deliver policy communications, lead as a subject matter expert in development of bilingual educational tools and resources, and participate in strategic planning and evaluation of program deliverables and objectives. The Small Farms Program Manager will work closely with the Small Farms Advisors and with Small Farms Community Educators in multiple county regions, as well as with nonprofit partner organizations supporting similar farming operations, to increase farmer access to training, resources, and research-based information.
