Graduate Research Assistant – Biological Systems Engineering

An assistantship is available for a student who is interested in pursuing a Ph.D. degree in the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at the University of California, Davis. The fields of research are related to precision agriculture, sensing, and mechanization.


  1. MS degree in agricultural, biosystems or a closely related engineering field
  2. Experience with computer programming, spectral analysis, machine learning, microcontrollers, mechanical design
  3. Interest in conducting applied research and extension projects
  4. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  5. Applicants must take the GRE test
  6. International applicants must score at least the following on language exams if applicable:

TOFEL (80) or IELTS (7).

Bonus skill: Image processing, aerial image acquisition, deep learning
